Manager, Graphic Design will lead and mentor a team of graphic designers that deliver services and solutions to our Investment Sales and Mortgage Banking network.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team Management and Development

    • Manage a team of Graphic Designers; Assign design tasks and projects to team members;

    • Provide mentoring, coaching and delegate as required to other team members;

    • Assist other team members and departments within the Market & Research Center (MaRC) when necessary;

    • Design and create marketing materials for internal customers that include institutional quality real estate listings and proposals as well as Mortgage Banking debt packages for both InDesign layouts as well as web to print;

    • Coordinate and collaborate with corporate marketing (BCMP) on initiatives as needed:

      • Uphold corporate brand standards

      • Manage templates and review innovative design concepts on a regular basis

      • Discuss and execute legal and compliance standards across all materials

  • Art Direction

    • Direct, oversee and occasionally assist in preparing marketing materials that effectively describe and promote the organization, its products and service. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of information distributed;

    • Oversee general creative direction and assist (in concert with graphic designers) with the creative process of crafting and maintaining of print and digital collateral. Provide guidance in print production where required including paper and finish selections.

    • Assist in developing and implementing designs, layouts, and templates for other listing and proposal materials, special projects and quarterly and annual multi-market publications;

    • Identify emerging trends and innovations in graphic design to keep Berkadia at the forefront of commercial real estate marketing;

  • Project Management

    • Ensure design requests are completed within requested or agreed upon time and specifications;

    • Review all materials for content and design to provide the highest level of quality and accuracy;

    • Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure local, regional and national marketing strategies and plans are in alignment with current needs and goals.

  • Confirm invoices for payment and manage all expenses against marketing budget, making recommendations for partners and activities based up on results of marketing actions.

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Marketing, Business or Design-related field of study preferred;

  • Experience with art direction, graphic design, digital art and layout;

  • Experience supervising employees required, experience supervising marketing teams and Graphic Designers preferred;

  • Experience in the Commercial Real Estate industry helpful;

  • Team building and people leadership skills;

  • Extensive knowledge of and competency with Adobe InDesign and other Adobe applications including Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat in a PC environment;

  • Knowledge of HTML/ HTML5/CSS/Javascript for email and other light web development related design work preferred;

  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

  • Previous experience with Smart Track and/or Salesforce preferred;

  • Outstanding time management; Ability to organize and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects with changing priorities;

  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic and must meet daily workflow deadlines;

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively manage expectations of customers with strong personalities;
